Unified Comms

Office phones,
without the
old lines.

Modern phone systems that work over the internet. Two options: Xelion is our go-to — a full-featured system with WhatsApp, an AI receptionist and live call screens built in. Microsoft Teams Phone is there if your team would rather keep everything inside Teams. Either way: unlimited UK calls as standard, good-value international packages, you keep your numbers — and we move you off the old lines before they're switched off in 2027.

The two platforms

Two systems.
We pick the fit.

We deliberately don't sell five different phone systems. Most businesses are best served by one of these two, and we'll tell you honestly which.

PLATFORM 01 · OUR PICK

Xelion

Our preferred choice for most businesses. It does far more out of the box than Teams — WhatsApp messaging, an AI receptionist, live screens showing who's calling, proper call reports, smart routing and a deep link into your customer records. The right answer when the phone actually matters.

  • WhatsApp & AI receptionist built in
  • Live screens & call reports
  • Links into Zoho Bigin & Microsoft 365
  • Call recording built in
PLATFORM 02

Microsoft Teams Phone

If your team already lives in Teams, calls can land in the same app — same headset, same screen, same call history. The price works out about the same as buying calling straight from Microsoft; the value we add is setting it up, supporting it, and bolting on proper phone-system features.

  • Right for: teams who live in Teams
  • No second app to learn
  • Priced like Microsoft's own plans
  • Call recording available

Not sure which? A 20-minute call covers it. We'll usually point you at Xelion — it does more for the money — and suggest Teams Phone only if your team would rather stay inside Teams.

What's included

Everything between
"hello" and the hang-up.

Either way you get a complete phone system, ready to use — not a box of parts you have to wire together. Same dependable lines underneath; different look and feel on top.

01 · CALLING

Calling features (both)

Everything you'd expect: ring groups, call queues, voicemails sent to your email, out-of-hours messages and "press 1 for sales" menus. The dependable foundation; identical across Teams and Xelion.

  • Ring groups & queues
  • "Press 1" menus
  • Voicemail to email
02 · LINES

Reliable lines underneath

Behind the scenes, your calls run over two separate UK networks — so if one has a wobble, the other picks up. Local numbers, 0800 numbers, whatever you need.

  • Local UK numbers
  • 0800 / 0345 numbers
  • Automatic backup routes
03 · NUMBERS

Keep your numbers

We handle the move from your current provider — including the awkward ones — and run old and new side by side, so there's never a moment your number doesn't work.

  • One number or many
  • Numbers from mergers & takeovers
  • Move dates booked in advance
04 · HARDWARE

Handsets & headsets

Modern desk phones for the people who still want one. Quality USB and Bluetooth headsets for everyone else. We don't push hardware you don't need.

  • Yealink / Poly / Cisco
  • USB & Bluetooth headsets
  • Shared desk phones
05 · REPORTS

Call reports

See which calls get missed, when your busy times are, and which lines you're paying for but never use. Xelion goes deeper; Teams covers most needs.

  • Live screens (Xelion)
  • Daily summaries
  • Missed-call alerts
06 · RECORDING

Call recording

Optional call recording with searchable transcripts — you control how long recordings are kept. Meets the stricter rules for regulated businesses, like financial services.

  • Stored safely in the UK
  • Search by number or person
  • You choose how long it's kept
Who it's for

A good fit if
you recognise any of these.

We work best with businesses where the phones actually matter — sales teams, professional services, healthcare, hospitality, anyone with a customer dialling in.

PROFILE 01

Still on the old phone lines

The old lines are switched off in January 2027 — a hard deadline. We move you over in good time, you keep your numbers, and the phones never stop working.

PROFILE 02

Outgrown a free phone app

You started with a free or one-person phone app and it can't handle call queues, reports or a second office.

PROFILE 03

Sales team / busy phone lines

The phone is the job. You want live screens, call recording, proper queues and a link to your customer records. Xelion is built exactly for this.

PROFILE 04

A team that lives in Teams

Your team already runs on Teams and would rather keep calls there too, without the extra Xelion features. Teams Phone is the clean answer.

Getting started

Live in three weeks,
not three quarters.

Most phone-system moves take about a fortnight from kick-off to switch-over. Bigger, multi-office moves run longer, but the path is the same.

STEP 01

Discovery

We look at what you have now: lines, numbers, how calls move around, hardware, the things people hate. Half a day on site, max.

STEP 02

Design

Which numbers go where, how calls should be answered, what kit you need, who needs training. Signed off by you before we touch anything.

STEP 03

Set up & move numbers

The new system runs alongside the old one. Nothing gets switched off until you're happy it all works. No leap-of-faith moment.

STEP 04

Train & tune

Hands-on training for your team and your receptionist. Then a two-week settling-in window where we tweak how calls are routed as real calls come in.

Pricing

Per user,
per month.

Includes the phone system, support, and unlimited calls to UK landlines and mobiles on most plans — plus good-value international packages where you need them. Hardware quoted separately. Bigger setups get bigger discounts.

FROM
£15/user / month
Xelion from £15 per user/month with most features built in. Teams Phone is priced about the same as Microsoft's own call plans. Final quote after a short chat.
MT
They moved all 42 of our numbers onto the new system with zero downtime. They managed the whole thing; we just got on with our jobs.

FAQ

Common questions

Phrased so you — or whoever signs off the spend — can lift them straight into a quote.

How do internet phones actually work?

Your calls travel over your internet connection instead of an old copper phone line. Your "phone system" becomes software, your phones are either desk phones or apps, and your numbers aren't tied to a wall socket — you could answer the office line from your computer in another country. The old copper lines are being switched off across the UK in January 2027, so every business will make this move eventually.

Can we keep our existing numbers?

Yes — keeping your numbers is the default, not the exception. We move your existing numbers across, including 0800s and the like. The process involves a lot of paperwork with some providers, but it's normal and routine. We keep the old line running in parallel so calls keep working throughout.

Teams or Xelion — how do we decide?

Xelion is our default recommendation — it does more out of the box (WhatsApp, an AI receptionist, live call screens, deep links to your customer records). We suggest Teams Phone when your team would rather keep everything inside Teams and doesn't need those extras. Sometimes the answer is both — Teams for the office and Xelion for a sales team. We'll be honest about which fits.

How does Teams Phone work?

Calls simply land in the Teams app you already use. Behind the scenes, we connect Teams to the phone network for you. The cost works out about the same as buying calling straight from Microsoft — the value we add is setting it up, supporting it, and adding proper phone-system features (queues, "press 1" menus, recording, reports).

What does Xelion add over Teams?

A lot — it's why we recommend it for most businesses. WhatsApp messaging, an AI receptionist, live wall screens, detailed call reports, smarter routing and built-in recording all come as standard. Teams Phone is fine for general office calling, but most of those extras need add-ons. Xelion also links deeply into Zoho Bigin and other customer databases — see who's calling before you pick up, dial with one click, recordings saved against the right customer.

What happens to our old deskphones?

Often they keep working; sometimes they need replacing. Most modern desk phones can be reprogrammed to work with the new system. Anything more than about 8 years old is normally retired. We check what you've got at the start and quote replacements only where needed.

Is the call recording GDPR-compliant?

Yes, when set up correctly — and we set it up correctly. Recordings are encrypted, stored in the UK, kept only as long as you choose, and handled in line with UK data-protection law. For regulated businesses (like financial services) we use a version that meets the stricter rules.
